Prostate, not kidney or bladder. This is the 5th time I've had this in my 60 years and in the past it always took two 10 day doses of antibiotics to fully clear it out. 4 different antibiotics and 6.5 months later I'm thinking, hoping and praying it's finally beaten. Still have 3 weeks left of my 2nd dose of Levaquin to finish out. Paul

Very happy to hear you're on the upswing Paul, and, hey, a few apples a day couldn't hurt!

That IS Good News....scary, what kind of bug did you get? Obviously urinary, but did they culture it? Could the culture it? Glad, very glad you had good insurance! Traveller
PS: people are getting struck down by the strangest things lately...of course we are all living longer, so the older we get, the more of a target I presume we make. Hummm...in any case, get well soon.

I have been fighting a drug resistant bacterial bug for over 6 months now and finally I think I'm starting to win the fight. I was dragged down so far and loosing weight I wasn't sure I was going to beat this thing. It's not over yet but things are really looking up. They finally found the right combination of drugs. One urologist wanted to do a biopsy, I told him it's not cancer keep treating me for bacterial infection. He basically said no so I changed doctors and the new urologist added a powerful NSAID to the treatment course and it in combo with the high power antibiotics are working. Who knew?? Obviously not my 1st uro. I can only say I am thankful for having very good insurance because the antibiotic I am currently taking is almost $500.00 per month, it's costing me $8.00.

Nice shot Paul. I hope that doesn't mean you're not well.
