At first I thought "hey, that isn't the 50 1.8.... no way because the bokeh is hexagon shaped". And then I thought "before I accused a long standing well respected photographer of trying to pull a fast one I should run a test". GULP! I guess as long as I've had my 50 1.8 I never shot it in the wide open environment with background lights. So I ran a little test thanks to the neighbors Christmas lights on their fence and duh, wide open the shutter leafs are just that wide open. At f2 it starts to show and at f2.5 it full bore. Double DUH!
