What seems most important to me about the image except I captured the theme I wanted, (something out of my real life and still within the terms of the Challenge), is that I was able to produce this rich, human, warm color (baby belly pink I call it)...Thanks to Paul for talking me into using RAW more often. Best Wishes, Traveller

That's from the IV Feed from yesterday...I opted for the surgery...but we will see how effective it was:

The Blue Booties

The Blue Booties are a nice touch. It is cold in the pre-op cubical behind those sliding curtains and when the nurse comes in to slip them on your feet, you feel suddenly good; it is a kind gesture and your feet get instantly warm. Next she inserts the oxygen tubes into your nose, and then the gossamer head piece that fits over your hair so that you feel as though you are working the back area of a restaurant kitchen and suddenly the absurdity of this hits you with a little voice as you stare up into the clean florescent lights:

“This business of keeping alive hangs but by and thread, and can be quite a difficult business.”

And it all comes down to the simple comforts of booties and a hair net. He laughed. When they slip the IV needle into your hand you know you are gone. Well, you don’t actually because you knock out so quickly. They say it’s twilight sleep. They keep saying, “That’s a question for the Surgeon, you’ll get a chance to talk to him.”

Wrongo!

You are wheeled in, you have to move from the Gurney, you have to not disturb your “drip,” moving over on to the operating table and then you see the Anesthesiologist, a nice looking man you think, friendly, your Doctor has his back to you, reading out loud your chart, “Right Side!” and you agree, “Yes, the right side,” and then add, “take your time guys, have fun, I am your best patient ever...”

You wake up fairly clear minded. “How did I get back to the recovery room?” you ask. “I had to work to get onto the Opp Table, how did you get me off? I must have been like 220 pounds of dead meat.”

“Oh,” she answers, “the table lifts on a side and we just roll you off,” and she laughs with a shrug.

Ahhhhhhh

Best Wishes, Traveller
