about that sliver of bricks - I was debating with myself long and hard abt. it, but finally decided to keep it as it is; for two reasons: [a] not very prominently disturbing perhaps, but at the same time [b] gives a viewer a yardstick to measure the exact gap between the arching columns; Quercy
