I, for myself, prefer these gargoyles to the ones of Paris you mention: they symbolize, IMO, an important era in the history of New York (much more than just being a visual metaphor for the Chrysler car company). BTW: I askedindeedthe firm that administrates the building for an authorization to get within the property somewhere close to the gargoyles to take a picture. "No problem", they replied, asking me to pay several hundred dollars for such a permit (if I recall well, they mentioned a fee of $ 400.-). So now I'm looking for someone who owns or rents some high-up space in an adjacent building from where I could take my "close-up". Do *you* know someone?? db.
Impressive close ups. Those Chrysler gargoyles remind me of the ones we see in pictures of Paris. It would be really cool to get a chance to shoot from right utop those, the ones in this shot.
