AP - what about one more step - clone out the cyclist and move him to the right to get on 2/3 but rolling into the picture? No limit for improvement :-) ...

I hate you guys....I like to keep the subject within their broadest context and Environment...but I could not justify the wider view....so I concede you are correct.

Thanks for the education.

After a lot of "looks" at this, I'd guess I crop it differently as well.

I respect your opinion...I understand it....I even logged off pbase so I could respond....(as if everyone doesn't already know exactly who everyone else is...eh?)

Be that as it may, the anon does give one the chance to be honest....this will never be an important work of mine, it will never be printed, it will probably not even go in any of my galleries....but, it's great virtue is that I took it...You understand? I'm serious...

If you are not doing product like set-up shots....being there is ninety percent of the game. I'm driving North from Mexico....I'm trying to find something to shoot that...is either cold or cool~ish, as is required by our host, K.

I thing I've done this very well with newly processed images over in Exhibition....I am proud of This is Sparta, especially the figure close on the left, and the centered Bobbie....this is Great Work, imo, as is Glacial Water...which I may print. Glacial Water may not be great as Sparta, but it is pretty, pretty, pretty....and this is, as a general rule, good for the soul.

Glacial Water was a throw away image....I am very happy that this Challenge forced me to see it in its raw state...anew.

Lastly, American Manufacture....is, what I wanted it to be...a tale of today's times. I hope it caries some staying power.

But Winter Ride....I was trying to shoot the surfing point, Trestles...unsuccessfully, the guards were giving me a hard time at the power plant and my photographing it, as they should....when he rode into the frame....I shot him 4 times, this is the only one in focus.

I Hope people like the image, I hope they vote for it...but is really only a variation of my better bicyclist in the Purple Challenge, 2006

I wish I had time to do better work....Winter Ride is good enough.

And good enough is sometimes pretty rare also

"Everywhere l look, something reminds me of her." (Lieutenant Frank Drebin in the movie "The Naked Gun", at a similar sight) [SCNR]
Placing the cyclist a bit closer to the left edge, according to the rule of thirds, by cropping the image would probably improve composition.
