naj---regarding your comment about hollywood at these events, you would be amaized how may men were carrying around expensive cameras w HUGE lens in order to grab scenes from across that field! i think everyone here on pbase cichallenge would absolutely love to attend one of these! every detail is covered and the narration is also very interesting. ed and i were surprised how many people also attended the reenactiment. one could walk around and look into the many little tents containing folks dressed in period costumes, even children. if you were to hear their conversations, you would be impressed how they were talking as tho they were living during the 1860's. general u.s.grant even came to the ropes and spoke to a few of us about his part in the battle. this guy WAS Gen. Grant!!! LOL
well i have said enough about this. if you ever get a chance to attend a cival war reenactment you will be very glad you did.
thanks naj. this is amazingly clear for being such a long distance away! there is such a shutter lag when shooting and i am quite inexperienced at taking action shots. i just have to get used to that new camera.=! also, i will have to try to understand why i am oversizing posted images when my PS "resize for the web" reads several points under 200 k. you mentioned checking the size when posting images here, but i fail to find the answer when i see a long-digit number instead of "200k." (you can see i can barely express myself in technical terms.) what i will do in the future is, instead of getting the figure close to 200 -- just try to get it 190. would that work? please assist me someone! you need to speak to me in very simple terms since i get lost when reading heavy technical info. chalk it up to my age! thanks for your patience! shu
I wonder if these re-enactment companies get called on by Hollywood for battle scenes in movies. It seems like quite a spectacle. Thanks for posting. Regards, -Najinsky
