Corn-scape

Medina, MN

A local cornfield in Minnesota - showing that the corn has been very slow to grow this year. It should be closer to 6 ft tall now, not a couple of feet. It was slowed by a poor spring, too wet and too cool.

That's interesting. Me and a friend took a road trip and I was trying to figure what type of fields we where passing by. I was guessing corn, but my friend said it looks way too short for this time of year to be corn. Your info verifies it to be corn. Thanks for posting! :) -Techo

Amazingly uniform growth over such a large area. Makes me think Genetics! Even the undulations are smooth an give the impression they shadow the contours of the soil. Weather causes all kinds of woe. Heavy floods have caused loss of life and yet more strife to already struggling communities here in Laos. -Najinsky

Nice corn-scape! Sad it is growing so slowly, we just had the first local corn of the season here in New England for dinner tonight, our stalks are 6 feet tall. Corn must like heat! ~Sharon
