Presume a hut

Vientiane, Laos

Apologies for the low quality of the lettering in this. The IQ of the lettering is being severely impact by JPEG compression at anything less than 100%. I've tried a dozen techniques to try to prevent it, but always the same outcome (large 'halos' in the centre of the letters giving a yellow streak).

I've posted an uncompressed version in pending with better colour in the lettering and if you know a technique for compressing this without the halos I'd be grateful.

Dear Najinsky:

Ahhh....Okay. But to be completely honest with you, Canon cameras have long had a problem rendering reds accurately. See this example shot, Panasonic, over in Exhibition by Stan Pepka:

I don't think a Canon camera could produce such clean reds.

Thanks for looking Traveller. It's definitely in the image, not just a display issue. It is most noticeable in the two uprights of the U in house, but I see in most of the other bright red letters too.

It's probably easier to see by upscaling the image:

,where the red body colour has been compressed closer to orange, and then comparing with the original:

, which retains the red body in the letters.

Dearest Najinsky....I just don't see it. I checked the version in pending also...lettering looks fine to me....

Maybe other people do...maybe it's the screen on your laptop...I don't know, but this seems fine to me.

Just sayin`
