Hey, Shu, thanks for trying. You are right, when you manipulate an image it grows! However, the dimensions are not the problem, reducing a side will change the bytes a little but not enough. There is actually an easy way to reduce the bytes to exactly the size you want. I will email instructions for CS4 if you like. If anyone else would like these just let me know!. ~Sharon

instead of making 9" on the long side i decreased it to 8" -- is it ok now. i think that when images are manipulated they tend to grow in size. ???? i don't understand the details, but there must be a way to make them "legal?" thanks for your patience. shu

I was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years. When it was your birthday we would all sing this song.

"This is your birthday song it isn't very long..... Hey!"

You had to be there to appreciate it.

On another photo site I recently learned how to apply textures. Very nice shu. Paul A.

Shu, you are much too modest! You are a fabulous photographer and much more advanced than some of the rest of us in special effects. Just look at this, it's gorgeous! And you are not "an old girl" - you are one of the most sparkling people I know. And I am embarrassed to mention this at this point but it is my job. This image is oversized at 307078 bytes, it needs to be 204800 bytes or less. Do you think you could reduce it for us? Thanks! ~Sharon

thanks for all your happy birthdays! hearing from you guys in a personal manner is great! a special thanks to bob who sang the birthday song so loud and clear that one can hear it across continents! you humor the old girl when she breaks the rules and fails to understand the concept of many of these challenges. but, through all of your very interesting and professional works, i eventually catch on to what is intended for these challenges. as you guys float effortlessly through these beautiful photographic "waters" i oft must paddle furiously with my "water wings" to keep up! LOL shu
