I agree with Kelly - this is the best version!

Pops, I just happened to notice that this is in the AdobeRGB color space. If you want to be sure everyone sees the colors as bright and beautiful as you see them, you'd better convert to sRGB.

Kelly, I've fought the battle with bubbles before and lost every time. So I started wondering what I could use that looked like water. Karo Syrup and glycerin came to mind. Mrs. Pops had a bottle of the syrup in the pantry so it was my first experiment. I didn't have to look any further.

A very sweet shot Pops - I like it best in your series.

Where did you get the idea to use syrup? - Kelly

I didn't have to re shoot. It is what I posted in pending.

OK, thanks for posting that in pending. I agree this one is better. I didn't know you had to re-shoot - thought you might have cropped a bit in post processing.

Olaf, I understood exactly what you meant. I re shot it today with a different set of marbles and it's cropped like you suggested and is in pending.

Just to be clear: I didn't mean to include the whole vase, just a little more space on the sides (which could be added without making the marbles smaller) and including the whole bottom (which would make the marbles slightly smaller, if you didn't crop from the top at the same time). I am not trying to be argumentative, just trying to clarify myself.

Thanks all.

Olaf, The Ikea vase is filled with Karo Syrup, a colorless light corn syrup. I'm sure it's available in Denmark and probably with a different name. Glycerine might work as well although I've never tried it. Cropping... I like your suggestions and I did play with the image. It's a trade off between more vase or bigger marbles in the image. Both have merit. I like it the way it is.

To the IKEA-mobile! The refraction here is tremendous! Nicely conceived and executed Pops - Kelly

Nice Pops! Your marbles look like colorful fish in a reef! I also like the effect on the right side of the square sectioned vase a lot. I think I might prefer this one slightly less tightly framed. Unlike my shot of marbles, the edge of the container is an important element in this photograph, and therefore I think a little more space around it, including the full bottom of the vase, would be good. Finally, I have a question: what did you use to get rid of the bubbles?

Great, I like the processing here, very abstract result. ~ Regards Bob
