WOW! "Hand held 4 sec." You've got a much
steadier hand than I do! Great capture!

Thanks tv! Penny - I learned to fly at Caldwell airport! Small world.

Summit NJ, huh... well that's very close to where I live now... I grew up in Caldwell.

Thanks LC! Never did much with second curtain - it should be fun to experiment.

This is very well done. Zooming in is definitely the way do... really accentuates the stars. I'll be you would enjoy playing with the flash technique "second curtain". Cheers, LC

I teach High School Physics, in Summit, NJ Penny. You can see the institutional ceiling panels in the upper left corner of the frame.

(And, I actually think I zoomed IN during the last part of the exposure shown here, not out).

Very nice blues in the flag and like the effects.

Well, you got a nice effect anyway (shows you what I know).
I'm just curious - what do you teach and where?

Thanks Penny, but it's not a reflection. Hand held 4 sec while standing on a rickety chair in my classroom. I slowly zoomed out for about the last 1 1/2 sec. I tried many variations of panning to try to get the star field superimposed on the red & white stripes, but nothing really worked. Then I thought to try zooming, and liked the effect better.

I boosted contrast & saturation, and then over-sharpened to try to bring out the texture.

I'm guessing this is a reflection? I like it very much - great colors and the stars really pop. Penny Street
