Edgy and cool! I too think the man on the right fills in the lonely part but the man smoking and reading fills in the rest of the story. They work well together but are indeed isolated in their own area of the shot.

I think the man on the right adds the really lonely feeling to the image. Quintessential baron New York street.

thanks for the comments. YB, I made a very slight change - maybe it's better. I think Bruce is right, though, as I hadn't changed any of the actual color. I kind of think sallow fits, in this case, anyway.

The play of shadow and light are very good. The subjects look like the epitome of track gamblers. The green tint on the skin, I think, is the ambient light of the walls. It all adds up to a gritty scene that is well portrayed.
