Canon Image Challenge 68: Backyard Wildlife

The challenge topic is "Backyard Wildlife" -- with loose interpretations of both "backyard" and "wildlife." The backyard does not have to be YOUR backyard -- it doesn't even have to be a "back" yard. It can be a front yard, a side yard, someone else's yard, or even a park or public place. And the wildlife doesn't have to be wild. It can be, for example, a bird, a squirrel, a butterfly, a frog, a lizard or even a pet. But, please, no zoos, wildlife preserves, caged animals, etc. The point is to capture images of everyday "wildlife" in natural surroundings you might see in your own neighborhood or on your travels. You can even include flora in the challenge, so if you want to enter (for example) a macro of a flower or other plant, that's okay, too.

The topic is open to wide interpretation, so let's see some flora and fauna!

• The Eligible Gallery: is for images captured with any camera, any brand during the Challenge period. All other rules outlined in the Official Challenge FAQ apply.


• The Exhibition Gallery: is for images taken any time with any camera.


• Enter a maximum of three pictures per person in each gallery for a combined total of 6 per challenge.
