Canon Image Challenge #42 - Unusual In-Camera Techniques

Such as, but NOT limited to: rotating the camera while shutter is open; zooming with shutter open; panning; long exposure; multiple flash pops; painting with light sources; dragging the shutter; multiple exposure (in camera, or in pp); infrared images; slapping a little Vaseline on a lens (or on cellophane over your lens) for that soft & misty look; shooting through something, etc.

Go wild; think outside the box, but INSIDE the camera. The list above is just what occurred to me in 1/2 hour. I'm sure we can all surprise each other in the next 12 days! I think that conversations about creative techniques used to produce the images would be a great way to broaden everyone's horizons.

- Multiple exposure images created using more than one image capture - ALLOWED.
- HDR images - ALLOWED

Here are a few other suggested “unusual in-camera techniques”:
• Reflections off a surface that is not flat (e.g., motorcycle gas tank).
• Reflections off a surface that is not steady (e.g., waves in a lake).
• Reflections off a surface that is not uniform (e.g., multi-faceted window).

• Multiple reflections (e.g., at the intersection of two windows, or with the subject located between a pair of mirrors).
• Holding the camera at an angle other than horizontal or vertical.
• Looking up or down at the subject from an unusual angle.
• Use of in-camera filters.
• Setting the camera to monochrome.

And finally,

• Capturing a portion of a subject in such a way as to disguise the identity of the subject.
