You show the yellow Magen David (Star of David) which the Nazi's used (roughly between 1941 and 1945) as an compulsory identification 'tag' for jews in the parts of Europe the Nazi's occupied. Displayed are a 'general' one with the 'jod' as well as the Magen Davids for Germany (Jude), France (Juif) and The Netherlands (Jood).
However, these were NOT ARM BADGES. Jews had to wear them at all times, totaly visible on their breast, sown on their clothes. Cynically the Nazi's made the jews 'pay' for their own stigmatisation, up the the point that these Magen Davids could only be obtained by handing in 'Textile coupuns'(as most other things, clothing was rationed at the time).
