There were four bus loads of people on this tour. Each bus had to pick a chief to represent the bus. The 4 chiefs asked permission to enter the village. A very sacred performance takes place upon arrival at the Marae known as the Wero (challenge). Followed by the Karanga (call), speeches and Hongi (greeting)all performed by the Maori warriors pictured.
