OK - now a bit more of the overview of the actual exhaust system. Shot here shows the initial run to the cat.

These notes are going to apply whether you are using the OEM Head pipe (NA), a header (NA) or the OEM down-pipe (Turbo) - I had the OEM cat flange removed from the head pipe to accomodate the aftermarket cat. In this particular photo the exhaust shop chose to use a short length of pipe to connect from the header to the cat - previously with the OEM Head pipe the shop chose to weld the cat directly to the head pipe, this is strictly a personal preference, or in this case the preference of the shop itself.

*One note here - I highly recommend going with a clamp at this location rather than welding, having the entire exhaust welded to the manifold is a bit of a pain when trying to work on the car.
