Via Rail across Canada

Via Rail's "The Canadian" from Toronto to Vancouver

The Canadian is Via Rail's flagship train from Toronto to Vancouver (and back again). The distance is 4466 km and it takes four nights and three days, about 87 hours. There are two dining cars, four dome cars, about 22 carriages for a total length of at least 600 m. A staff of nearly thirty keep the hundreds of passengers comfortable, safe and happy. The train ride across the country is where the journey and the destination become one and the same.
