I found my visit to Gettysburg to be moving experience. At every turn there is another
story, anecdote or significant monument. This artwork at the site of Pickett's Charge
is dedicated to the troops from North Carolina who saw the majority of the casualties
in the 12,000 Confederate soldiers who charged across 3/4 of a mile of open fields and into
the Union line at Cemetery Ridge on July 3, 1863.
