Mission Soledad

Mission Nuestra Senora de la Soledad and was founded in 1791 by Father Lausen and is dedicated to mary, the Mother of Christ as Our Lady of Sorrows. In 1834 a decree was issued dedlaring the appropriation of all mission properties. Mission Soledad fell into ruin and was rebuilt, except for the church, starting in 1954. More that 2,000 baptisms and 736 marriages were placed in the records during the years the Mission operated.

The Mission is on Fort Romie Road, just west of US 101 at Exit 301 (Arroyo Seco Road), south of the town of Soledad, CA.
