Kiva A – A Great Kiva , Station #14. The small niches in the wall around the room probably served as storage spaces or depositories for ceremonial objects.
In the Great Kiva at Chettro Ketl just up the canyon, more that 130 feet of beads, when strung, were found in similar niches.
Entrance to this kiva could have been made by means of the stairway at the north end of the room, and possible, also, by use of a ladder thruss through a roof entrance.
