Betatakin Ruin

Navajo National Monument, Arizona

General view of the ruin. The name means "Ledge House" in Navajo.
Betatakin was constructed and abandoned in two generations,
between 1250 and 1300 by the Kayenta Culture who may be the forefathers of the Hopi living south of this area.
