This is a new gallery of all my Yosemite photos.

The name Yosemity was applied to the valley when it was discovered by the Mariposa Battalion in March, 1851, but has been used with the present spelling since 1852.
The name meant "the Grizzlies" or "the Killers" and was applied by the neighboring tribes to the valley Native Americans because of their lawless character.
