Alameda Point

The former Navy Air Station, now being used by the City of Alameda.
Construction on the Naval Base began in 1938 from a simple airstrip called Benton Field, and was first used by Pan American Airways.
The USS Hornet first came to the facilities in March, 1942 and is now docked at Pier 3 as a museum.
Here are a few photos that I took in late August and two days in September, 2007.
I converted them to black and white to give a feel of old Navy photos.

Comments welcomed.
