Visiting the City to have an parents only retreat and to see Marc and Mindy and the newest-in-new Clementine. We stayed at the Zen Center and took in the shopping at Clement Street, where the outside shots were taken. I had planned on making the HCB retrospective at the MOMA but it looks like I'll have to get back to SF during Christmas break.

Film notes: Used the new pair of 28s - the Canon f/2.8 and the CV Ultron f/1.9. As the indoor shots prove, you can't beat speed. I think the inside stuff is f/1.9 @ 1/30, quite a low speed but if the subjects are still you can pick your spots and get the shot. The Canon would have acquitted itself nicely had there been light, but if the light's not there it's just not there. You have to adapt to the circumstances and f/1.9 is as fast as they come in 28mm. Kodak Porta400NC once again shines as well - I think the skin tones are particularly flattering and lovely. I apply a little processing to my tastes, but the Portra gives you 95% of the look you see. The Canon was used for the outside shots and did nicely as well. A very compact lens that works well as a city walkaround - set the the f/stop, check the hyperfocal distance and then just point and shoot.
