Great haiku about a "general" scenario that is too common in the modern age. Your composition - with this couple sitting together to take in the view of the water -gives the haiku meaning even deeper. They're together but separate.
Oh I do like your haiku and your image. I don't own a mobile phone, by choice! I see this kind of thing everywhere. Parents with kids, owners with dogs, ignoring all for the phone!V
