Funguy

At home view map

I’m fairly certain this is Armillaria mellea, a honey fungus
It surrounds the tree stump of an old ash, giving it the alternative name of stump fungus

Apparently (?) edible, the recommendation is to cook it before eating.....

It's very colourful but I don't think I'd be brave or foolish enough to try cooking it.

A wonderful capture of this honey fungus, aka Laine, not sure about eating it, Chris.V

I'd be very cautious - ditto Laine's advice for eating them... But what an astonishing sight, so many!
