August 9th - #3 - Something I find interesting

Hesdin

The only plaque remaining on one of these crosses is in memory of
Sophie Cecile de Locher - 1785 - 1848
I have searched the archives but cannot find any information about her or a family de Locher in the area.

I love this sort of mystery. Is there a local historian to ask? V

Nice capture of the plaque, despite the rust in pretty good shape. Well presented!

Born 233 yrs ago and not in a leap year, died as a single lady at a relative early age by todays standards and 11 yrs after Queen Victoria was crowned and Edward the V11 was 7 years of age and while the last King of France Louis XV1 before the fall of the monarchy was on the throne...but knowing who she was would be excellent.
The plaque is so clear...amazing.
