The Australian War Memorial

Canberra

This monument is one of the most amazing I have ever been to visit.
I could spend several days in the museum that displays not only the history of WW1 and WW11 but also
all other campaigns in which Australians have fought.

It is lovely and a fine tribute to the fallen...and aren't the guardian lions from the Menin gates in Ypres, Belgium just beautiful. They were a gift to Australia in 1936

In assurance of a friendship that will not be forgotten even when the last digger has gone west and the last grave is crumbled.

We must go and revisit this Memorial, it appears to have grown since we were there last! Great shot Chris.. v
