We were so fortunate to have eight white storks land in a nearby tree and one was ringed.
They have been on the endangered list but their numbers are increasing.
They over-winter in Africa and fly up to the Alsace region to breed.
The third image is of a male welcoming his partner with head thrown back and beak clacking.

At over a metre tall and a wingspan of 150-160 cms they are huge!
