Max passed away in the early hours of August 9th.
He was four weeks short of his 16th birthday

It is so difficult losing such a loved member of the family. The hurt goes so deep and ever so gradually, healing takes place and then you remember the wonderful years you had together... a special love like no other. They ask so little yet give so much in return. Max was a beautiful dog and was obviously well loved. Can we really ask more than that in life?

I had to follow Stephanie's post to see another photo of this handsome old guy. Almost sixteen years old is a wonderful age. You must have taken very good care of him and loved him very much. My condolences on his passing.

I just saw Stephanie's post, my first inkling about this sad day, so I had to come here. A wonderful photo of this very handsome boy who had an exceptionally long life which is a tribute to your love and dedication. It is always so sad to lose a dear companion.
