Going Green #22 - House mouse - Mus musculus

I realise many people will think I'm crazy but I catch these tiny mice in a humane trap -
transport them several hundred yards and release them.
We live in an old, stone house and it is impossible to avoid the occasional mouse or shrew.
The neighbours tell me I'm taking them out for the day and they'll be back....possibly true!

My Gracie Gray has become quite the mouse catcher. Not humane! Nice composition. Bless you!

I think it is nice that you use a humane trap, but I think you might need to take them farther away for release. You may be catching that same mouse over and over, if he returns. Good picture!

Our cat used to bring in large RATS - not very nice having them running around in the house - fortunately she's getting a bit too old to go hunting... Well, I hope she is

I too applaud you for not hurting these tiny creatures who are, after all, only trying to survive, just as we are. They are sooooo cute! V

Very cute mouse and capture. So kind of you to release unharmed these little ones back into their natural habitat. Excellent!!! (and if I could vote twice I would, a second one for kindness!)

Ah yes, the well known homing mouse story.

Heh, we used to try and trap them, but found our cat was better at it than we were. Good on you for not wanting to squish them Voted.

I'm in the same situation despite having 3 cats in the house! I do tend to take them further away. They are cute but a bit of a menace!

I think you should gtve him a piece of cheese before you abandon him .
