Vogogna, in the heart of the Val d’Ossola. At the end of this little street is the Castle of Vognona,
or the Visconti Castle, built in 1344 for the Bishop of Novara, Giovanni Visconti, and extended in 1449.
Designed as a fortress to protect the entire valley, as well as Vognogna itself.
