Piedra de la Rosa the result of a combination of processes initiated when a river of lava gets cold. When the lava is solidifying,
its mass contracts and cracks. These cracks can take different characteristic shapes. In some cases, balls are produced by spherical
flake off; in other cases, rocks break into hexagonal prisms, creating “organs”, and if the cracks are radial, “stone petals” are created,
producing the formation of roses.
