Connel Bridge, spanning Loch Etive, built in 1903. Originally built for the Callander and Oban Railway, a roadway was added in 1914,
with a toll payable by road users. After the railway branch line closed in 1966, the bridge was converted for exclusive use of road vehicles
and pedestrians, and the toll was removed.
Beneath the bridge is the Falls of Lora, a tidal race which forms at the mouth of Loch Etive when a particularly high tide runs out from the loch,
creating white water rapids for 2 – 5 days either side of the spring tides. Sadly, this wasn't happening when we visited!
