Castle Tioram, situated on the tidal island of Eilean Tioram, in Loch Moidart. Also known as Dorlin Castle, it was a principal stronghold of
Clann Ruaidhri and later of their descendants Clan MacDonald, built in the 14th century . The castle was seized by Government forces around 1692
and a small garrison was stationed there until the Jacobite Uprising in 1715. It has been unoccupied since then.
