Castle Gutenfels – built in 1220 and owned since 1257 by the Falkenstein family; used a residence for the Electorate of Palatinate.
It was renamed Gutenfels (solid rock) in 1504, after an unsuccessful siege by Landgrave Wilhelm von Hessen.
Rebuilt between 1889 and 1892, it is now a hotel.
