Nicosia

Crossing point between south and north Nicosia. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, the country was partitioned, and a UN buffer zone established
between the south and the north (known as the Green Line, shown in red on the route map). As a peace measure to aid the unification of Greek and Turkish Cypriots,
a number of crossing points were agreed. This one, at Ledra Street, is used on a daily basis for pedestrians and cyclists.
