Schönbrunn Palace – former imperial 1441-room Baroque / Rococo summer residence of the Habsburgs, one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria,
and one of the biggest tourist attractions in Vienna! The name means “beautiful spring”, and derives from an artesian well which supplied drinking water to the court.
Built originally in the late 17th century, it was remodelled in the mid-18th century by Empress Maria-Theresa.
