The building to the right of the clock tower is the guild house of the “Free Sailors”, originally built in 1355,
then rebuilt after it was sold to the guild of sailors in 1630. The houses along the waterside reflect the wealth
and power of the medieval guilds, which were rich enough to build these splendid stone mansions.
