Dijon

The automaton clock, on the Église St. Michel, known as Le Jacquemart, one of the oldest and most famous in the world.
Duke of Burgundy Phillippe the Bold took it from Courtrai in Belgium and then offered it to the city of Dijon in 1383.
At the time, M. Jacquemart was the only character marking the hour, but after centuries of teasing, the citizens of
Dijon gave him a wife, Jacqueline. After their barrenness was further mocked, they were finally blessed with a son,
Jacquelinet, and then a daughter, Jacquelinette.
