House of the Skeleton – derives its name from the discovery of human remains in a second-floor room in 1831.
This was the first body to be found in the town, which had been assumed abandoned when the eruption began.
This is part of a decorative frieze in the nymphaeum, a grotto with a natural water supply dedicated to nymphs.
