Sometimes called "British Columbia's Prettiest Town" or "Switzerland of the Americas", Kaslo was originally
a silver mining boomtown in the 1890s, now reliant on forestry and tourism.
The town hall was built in 1898, and is one of only two wooden municipal buildings still used as the seats of local government.
