The Great Swimming Dragon Tai Yi Chuan . . .

. . . demonstrated and performed by Master Liping Julia Zhu on September 14, 2008 @ 6th & Fulton in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA. Swimming Dragon Tai Yi can be a very strenuous and athletic form of tai yi, yet when practiced daily, it can be very soft, graceful and artistic. Swimming Dragon incorporates movements from Qi Gong, traditonal Tai Yi, Chinese martial arts, dancing arts and yoga. "Swimming Dragon Chuan is a Toaist internal style of martial arts, emphasizing both the inner and outer practice. It requires inside concentration as well as the combination of the inner and outer qi. Your inner qi mixes with the outer universal qi. The form only requires a 6x6 foot space. The moves are done slowly and smoothly with concentration and natural breathing. It stretches all of your ligaments and leads your qi through all the channels. After repeated and persistent practice, Swimming Dragon Chuan will naturally improve your flexibility, coordination and balance."
