UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Galena is a pretty area of Northwestern Illinois, near the Mississippi River. It is not flat! When the glaciers smoothed the mid-West, this part of Illinois was shielded by high lands in Wisconsin. As a result, the land profile survived the last round of glaciation.
