Mazda Miata

-----
Always garaged in winters and rarely driven in the rain, this 1990 Miata, which logged less than 63k, looks and drives like new. Since its purchase in October '90 I've had only one problem involving a locked-up brake pad. Other than that, it's been trouble-free.

Some folks have indicated that the asking price is well above the Blue book value. True. But let me counter that argument by saying that this car is in a condition that's far better than a typical 1990 model used by the blue book. Therefore I don't think the blue book valuation is a fair comparison in this case.

Take the mileage, for example, a typical '90 car that's considered in 'good condition' by the blue book would average at 180k (12k x 15 years.) And yet, mine has only 63k (62,900.) That's only 1/3 of the mileage of a 'good condition' 1990 blue book car.

Obviously on the web I can't show you the underside and wheel walls, which are like new since this car is never used in the winter. Rain can be detrimental to a convertible like Miata due to its soft top design, which tends to collect as opposed to expel water. This car is rarely exposed to rain, and never heavy rain.

This car doesn't have power windows nor power antenna. But it does have power steering.

This car has no A/C (I was previously mistaking the heater for A/C.)

I'm the original owner. I have the title (this is a duplicate title. The original title can not be found, either because I lost it, or the bank never sent it) and the lien release (Bank of America, a.k.a BayBank, BankBoston) as well as the original purchase order (then Boston Mazda in Alston, MA.)

Everything except the 4 new tires (a $400 value) is original. It's also equipped with a factory-installed limited-slip differential, alarm, and a cloth cover in light blue. Car is located in Cambridge, MA. If interested, please leave me a comment with your name and contact info. (check 'private' if you don't wish others to see it.) I'll contact you in 1 business day. Thanks for your interest.

Asking price: $5,500 (updated 7/10/2006)

p.s. Please leave a comment ONLY IF you're interested in purchasing, or would like to know more about, the car. Thanks.
