Paddle steamer Ruby was originally built in 1907 and resides at the Port of Wentworth in NSW at the junction of the Murray and Darling Rivers.
On a previous trip to the riverland we had been on board Ruby whilst she was still being restored by volunteers. But had never seen her in action.

April 2011
Ruby had just travelled from Wentworth to Renmark in South Australia to join in the 100th Birthday celebrations of the PS Industry, this all
happening while we were gallivanting around Broken Hill and had not got back to Wentworth yet. So we missed the actual celebrations but by
hightailing it from Wentworth to Renmark (1.5 hours by road) we still had a chance of catching up with her before her journey home. Atleast
we hoped - we could not find any updated departure information and tourist offices were closed. But we made it to Renmark and Ruby's departure
had been delayed. So we had a relaxing 24 hours in Renmark and saw Ruby steam off the following morning! Not only that but we also got lucky
and found her along the river at: Murtho Forest Reserve, Heading Cliffs lookout and Kulcurna Homestead (NSW). Given the slow pace at which she was
travelling, a bit of luck and a lot of patience was involved!
