A last minute decision, getting there just in time for some fireworks.
We couldn't find a free park anywhere so I stood in a street somewhere
in Melbourne as the the sky filled with colour. Somewhere near the MCG
(as you can just see the MCG lights in the shot) and fired off a few, all
the while fumbling with tripod settings amok ...hoping for the best ...
cars and people parked every which way ... and getting away with it ...
probably all secretly hoping the parking inspectors would turn a blind eye ...
all too soon the sky show was over ... and we were out of there ... off to
the in laws to consume Oliebollen donuts, a Dutch new year tradition ...
then home to a hot house after Melbourne's 40 degree New Years Eve.
