Bears by chezzy - chez bears - artist bears - hand made by Cheryl Ridge Australia
Years ago I tried my hand at making teddy bears, which gave me a better appreciation for the craft -
the work and process involved. I did not use a sewing machine but rather stitched them all by hand.
I constructed a basic pattern from which all my bears were created yet all were unique. Like many traditional bears I made them from pieces I had cut from mohair fur cloth and all bears were fully jointed (moveable head and limbs), with glass eyes and suede paw pads.
I made only a small number of bears but one went to live in Italy and another donated to a
Teddy Bear Museum in Japan. I kept a few for my own collection but no longer make them.
